Board Member Responsibilities
Becoming a board member for St. Johns Center for Opportunity is an honor and responsibility. We estimate this volunteer role to require a commitment of up to five hours per month, which will ebb and flow throughout the year and depend on your specific role on the board.
Here is a general list of board member expectations:
1. Commit to serve on the board for two years, with an option to renew for two additional years in one year increments.
2. Attend meetings/events:
Board Meetings – monthly (fourth Thursdays in the evenings, currently alternating between Zoom and in-person)
Board Committee Meetings - monthly or as needed (currently on Zoom)
Annual Board Retreat – typically one day, in person
Regularly support other organizational programming, such as the St. Johns Farmers Market and Small Business Grants

Depending on the number of submissions, we may not be able to meet with every person who expresses interest. If selected to move forward, we will contact you by email to set up an interview.
If selected to move forward after the interview, we will contact you to request that you attend one board meeting to introduce yourself.
We will notify you if you are invited to join the board.
