Come listen and give feedback on the new police accountability policy for Portland. This Commission is not a part of the current system.
About this Event
The Police Accountability Commission (PAC) is holding a community info session on Wednesday, June 7th at the St. John's Community Center.
This is a chance for you to come listen to the police accountability policy, meet some of the volunteer Commissioners, give policy recommendations. and discuss any feedback you have about the new policy on police accountability.
The PAC is not part of the Portland Police Bureau. The PAC is a group of volunteer community members working to implement the Real Police Accountability ballot measure, approved by Portland voters in 2020. 82% of Portlanders voted in favor of creating a new community police oversight board, and the City Council set up this commission to work with the community to develop the details of the new system. The PAC is not the current oversight board. The PAC is in the process of creating a policy around what the new police oversight board will look like and what powers and duties they will have, and how the new complaint system will work.
Come listen, ask questions, and learn more about the volunteer Commissioners working hard on making a new structure come to life. We will have snacks and refreshments for you to enjoy. We also provide ASL and Spanish interpretation. Come on out!
