About the Event
All are welcome to celebrate with us!
There's lots to celebrate and lots to do with Friends of Columbia Park. Check out Columbia Cottage and have a cup-o-coffee. Bring your kids to play in the park and create some art in Columbia Cottage. Listen to our friend Jim Sjulin talk about the 40-mile loop. Pick-up some trash and keep the park clean!

10:30-11:30 a.m. - Session with Jim Sjulin, local park expert & 40-mile looper.
11:30-12:00 – Mingle and Cottage clean-up
Jim will give an update on the current status of the 40 Mile Loop, the gaps in it, and the work being done towards completion. He will expertly take us around the nooks and crannies of today's Loop, four times larger than imagined, and has hinted that there is some recent good news to share about regarding funding. The 40-Mile Loop is an amazing success story of cooperation between many government agencies, cities, civic groups, Friends groups, and key individuals. Their sustained and coordinated work over the last forty plus years has taken a germ of an idea suggested by John Charles Olmsted in 1903 into the string of amazing public spaces that surround our metropolitan area today.
Join the session with Jim in person at the Cottage (subject to capacity limits) or virtually at
